Referee Uniforms and Equipment

There are many sources of referee uniforms and equipment, but the two principal ones are OFFICIAL SPORTS (aka "OSI") and SCORE. Click on the logos to visit their websites.

IMPORTANT NOTES FOR NEW REFEREES:

The free starter kit you will receive from New Mexico Youth Soccer contains all you need to begin refereeing (two exceptions: predominantly black sneakers and sunscreen)
Don't be intimidated by the variety of equipment and clothing - especially shirts - that are sold to referees. You don't need to rush into buying all the different colors of shirts (short and long-sleeve).
The starter kit includes a yellow short-sleeve shirt. If necessary (when team colors absolutely require it), your fellow referees will loan you other colors. In cold weather, it is perfectly acceptable to wear a plain black long-sleeve t-shirt under your yellow one.
Over time, you will probably want to purchase shirts of other colors (green and red are the next two most popular colors).
